My lunch date with "smitten"

I walked over to the restaurant and he's there already. He looks exactly like his picture. We hug and then go inside. His height didn't quite bother me. He's 6'5" compared to my 5'6". We sit down and start talking. Getting to know one another. He's wonderful to talk to but I felt no attraction. We decide to head on back to work. He walks me and tries to get a private moment. We walk in a back alley way and I am standing on a pavement which makes me taller. For a moment we stop and face each other. I am hesitate and he doesn't lean close to kiss me. So we start walking again. He gave me a hug and went our separate ways.

I'm at my desk, he sends me an instant message. Wanting to know the dish on how I felt. I asked him if he found an attraction and he said yes. What about me? I told him the truth and said I felt no connection. We finally got the chance to meet face to face.
**Yes, I revised this. Due to Percy's comment.

Percy - Yes, I know men don't like the words "let's be friends".

First off he was aware of this. That if there wasn't any attraction between us we can still be friends.

You are entitled to your feelings and so be it.

I never read the original post, but I don't say let's be friends. If there is no attraction, I tend to say something along the lines of "please do say hi should we run into each other again."

Helps avoid any awkwardness (sp?) if we do cross paths, and it's a little less painful than "let's be friends."

Roxy - Thanks for the advice. I may try that next time. :)
